BRUNEI'S intrepid adventurers Norhayati Abu Bakar and Harun Kurt Eichbauer are en route through Asia in their Trans Africa expedition.

In the sultanate for a brief stint to share their experiences recently, the husband and wife eco-tour operator and tourism ambassador team dropped by Sin Hup Huat Company, one of their sponsors.

During the visit, Sin Hup Huat General Manager Nicholas Ling presented the couple with a $300 cash voucher in support of their upcoming Europe Tour in January.

In a statement from Sin Hup Huat, Harun told of their adventure spanning 27,000km through Africa, passing through Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Rwanda and more.

Harun said he was particularly impressed with their set of BF Goodrich tyres.

"Until now, after the expedition, I have only used up 30 per cent of the tyres," he said.

"The tyres are great in performance and handling where we drove in many harsh terrains such as hard gravel roads, muddy terrains, travelling up mountainous regions and etc. The most memorable was when we were travelling in a sand storm one day and we managed to drive through it safely."

According to Ling, the BF Goodrich tyre was named one of the 10 most influential all-terrain products by jeep-enthusiast magazine JP.

Sin Hup Huat says the tyres are recommended to all 4x4 enthusiasts who want a more aggressive tyre that delivers serious off-road traction.

Norhayati and Harun are pioneers in their effort to spread the word on Brunei tourism to obscure places around the world.

Beginning in Cape Town, South Africa last April, the couple are on an expedition through Africa, the Mediterranean Sea and Europe, following in the footsteps of ancient traders on the historical silk route.
