M’sia Launches Year-end Sale

IT’S finally time for the much anticipated 1Malaysia Year-End Sale (1MYES), which offers the best deals and discounts throughout Malaysia stores.
The annual event was launched yesterday by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Datuk Hjh Mas Ernieyati Samsudin. The launch took place at International branded outlet called Freeport A’Famosa Outlet in Melaka, which is located next to popular tourist landmark, A’Famosa Resort.
As one of its ways to boost country’s shopping sector, Tourism Malaysia is promoting ‘Experiential Shopping packages’, which allows shoppers to enjoy Malaysia’s best cuisines, entertainment, leisure activities all while visiting tourist spots located near malls or retail hubs.
The venue of the launch sports a Dutch-themed architecture, which pays homage to Melaka’s Dutch heritage.
It was designed as an open-air mall with more than a hundred international brands, with five water features, a lake, four parks and even a windmill and carousel which are open to customers.
Tourism Malaysia has also invited foreign media participants on a Mega Familiarisation Programme to cover the event and promote the tourism offerings, particularly shopping.
Tourists are encouraged to drop by to customer service centres at the country’s shopping centres to find out more about the year-end deals.
1MYES event is the peak time for shoppers to get the most out of Experiential Shopping as major shopping malls and retail outlets start their irresistible bargains, discounts and in-store redemptions.
It will run from November 1 to December 31, 2016.
