THE Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) has issued a $100 million-sukuk (Islamic bonds) at a rental rate of 0.5625 per cent.

In a press release, AMBD said the 138th issuance of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities was made on October 3 and will mature on February 2, 2017, based on a 91-day tenor.

With this issuance, the Brunei government has issued over $10.3232 billion worth of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities since its maiden offering on April 6, 2006.
