AMBD Conducts Financial Literacy Programme For Youth

AUTORITI Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), in collaboration with Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP), Brunei Association of Banks, and Brunei Insurance and Takaful Association recently conducted a financial literacy programme for the students of the Youth Development Centre.

More than 25 students participated in the two-day programme which was held October 26-27.

The programme included an insight on AMBD’s role as Brunei’s central bank and its functions.

AMBD’s representatives also discussed the Currency Order 2004, becoming financially smart and avoiding financial scams.

A TAP representative discussed the Supplemental Contributory Pension and the Housing Fund Scheme.

Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd and Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd talked about the importance of protecting one’s self and loved ones through takaful.

The banks also introduced their latest initiatives to help local SMEs which include Baiduri Bank’s Merchant Suite and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam’s SME 360.

The programme is one of AMBD’s initiatives which aim to promote financial literacy and awareness.
