Makan Brunei: Sweet Nonya Delights Café

How many times have you craved a bowl of laksa and been unsuccessful in finding one that hit all the right spots? How many times have you had to cross borders to satisfy that same craving?

What if you had to look no further than Kiulap to find that one bowl of comfort reminiscent of times when soul food was gimmicky and grandma would approve?

Sweet Nonya Delights opened its door during the month of Ramadhan in 2015 -- a feat many thought would be the cause of their swift downfall. One later, and they have become a favourite spot for quick and hot Nonya meals and sweet and sticky cakes that are reminiscent of old traditions and symbolic of heritage.

Uncluttered and echoey, the inside of Sweet Nonya Delights Café is accentuated with bits and bobs that take you back in time briefly. The rest of the nostalgia you'll feel when dining there is all thanks to their varieties of freshly made traditional cakes -- the largest variety that can be found in the sultanate to date.
